Who We Are

The Designer

Chris Powell has worked extensively in design in the New York area, Aspen, Dallas, Miami and London since 1992. He was educated in interior design at New York’s FIT and gained further training working as a design assistant under the legendary Jed Johnson, the foremost interior designer in the world at the time. This was followed, in 1994, with four years in the studio of world renowned New York architect Robert A.M. Stern where attention to scale and detail rooted in classical architecture is a prerequisite. He relocated to Aspen in 1998 and opened Studio 133 in order to provide clients with this same level of design expertise and professional service.

Studio 133

Timeless and unexpected; detailed and refined. These are the trademarks of a Chris Powell design.

Each project tells its own unique tale. They are individually conceived and meticulously fabricated. They are classic yet modern. They combine period pieces with contemporary. They belong to their owner but filtered through a trained eye. They are elegant and understated but not afraid to be bold.

Relationships are essential to Chris’ work. The long-term relationship with his clients; the relationship with the architecture he is given or refines; and his lifelong relationship with design in all its forms. “It is my goal to make sure each client has their home, not mine, and that each project is unexpected but fits their individual needs.”

“The most important aspect of each of the homes Chris has completed for me is that they all flow perfectly.” Private client, Aspen/ Fort Lauderdale
